All the three's - Polkdoodles Crafting

Happy Sunny Sunday
Yesterday I was having a play with ink and stamps
Using
3 stamps, 3 inks, 3 colours I made 3 simple cards
All slightly different
I made 6 x 6 white card blanks to start
Then cut Orange/Green/lilac cardstock at 5.75 square
I cut out 9 2 x 2 in white matted onto the various colours and trimmed up
I embossed 3  5 x 5 white card stock using a dotty file
Then out came the Daisydays stamp set
For my first card I used Memento ink Morocco
Second I used Memento ink Pistachio
and finally Memento ink Elderberry
Once my stamping was completed , I put together all my cards using a slice of ribbon on each one - and then I gave the main flowers some centers using various pearls and such to match

But you know when its just perfect for someone... It must be made

I cut the chick out twice using sturdy card  the teplate is from the SIL store, and decorted using papers printed from Cherryblossom Lane collection . The feet and wings were matted onto the card also and then attached with foam pads.
The envelope is from Lily bug Love collection and I just added my own sentiment

Pretty Little Flowers - Birthday Cards

Happy Monday Everyone, those weekends sure do fly past.
I made a couple of cards yesterday very similar but I think they look so different

I made the pink one first - In the photo it looks more red but its actually bright pink!
I used a lovely 6 x 6 Embossing folder , mounted onto pink cardstock and popped a ribbon on and adhered to a white card base
I die cut a pink center and a plain white circle
Then the fun part I stamped the swirls ( I just adore this stamp ), Sentiment and tiny hearts
which I coloured to match
The flower petals are very easy and you can make them using a small circle die or punch, a couple of folds and there done
I dusted round with pickled rasberry distress ink
Popped them on the card with 3 little gems.

I loved the effect so soon got an idea to make another, made exactly as above but using black cardstock. I used Brusho's on the petals this time , Scarlet, Lime Green with lemon  and Orange
and kept these in clusters of 3's.

Embossing and Die Cutting

Ohhh I had great fun yesterday
Since getting a portrait cutting machine I have become lazy with my dies , so yesterday out came my big shot and with a quick flick over with the duster, found my box of dies and off I set.
I found some stunning dies not even opened but they were must have's at the time I'm sure
I found a lovely rolling rose die from Sizzix, I had to try that one out!

I cut two card bases from 12 x6 from white card stock to make 6x6 cards - (I wish on hindsight I did 7 x 7 there was so much more I wanted to add)
Card 1
I used a lovely peacock embossing folder , it is so very pretty .
I used a circle die on the center
Matted onto blue cardstck
I then die cut some swirls and flourishes, Flowers leafs and butterfly.
The butterfly I cut twice so I could give it a blue center.
I then die cut a smaller circle and stamped on the sentiment.

Card 2
Again using a pretty 6x6 embossing folder - I adore this one it gives you so much room for the center.
I cut the clock out on my portrait
The swirls and flourishes and leafs were die cut
and there are those beautiful flowers  I mentioned earlier.
I finished of with some baby blue pearls.
After finishing this card I thought it might make a lovely wedding card , changing the time to the time of the wedding , and popping there names into the center

Plain and Simple

Happy Saturday
It's a little cooler today in the South West of England, we have had a scorcher of a week so nice to get a little breeze and some cooler air.

This week I have been very frugal using lots of my scraps of paper/card from my box where I put any waste I have in it there is quite a lot of black , half sheets here and there so I pulled a couple of those out to use,

I started by cutting our 2 white card blanks 12 x 6 inches
Scored down the middle
I cut the black card   and matted up
then cut white card and matted that too
(I added a ribbon to the white card stock on card 1)

Card 1
I used a dandelion stamp (love dandelions) and stamped it twice using Tuxedo Black memento ink - The sentiment was also stamped in this - I then added those cute two little birds using Paris Dusk Memento ink . Added a few tiny pearls and card 1 was made

Card 2
I adore this stamp , simple but contains so much detail , I was going to colour it in but I loved the black and white look, so I stamped a butterfly and coloured that very pale pink with my Graph'It Markers, then added a few pearls here and there and a sentiment to finish off.
The main stamp and sentiment I used Tuxedo Black memento ink and for the butterfly London Fog Memento ink

Summertime - Polkadoodles Crafting

Happy Friday Everyone!
Here today for
*Summertime*

When I think of Summer I think of all the lovely flowers , so my project this week reflects that. I have used  for the pink card - papers from  Lemonade Fizz - The purple card papers from Lavender Tea - The blue card papers from Octavia Moonfly. The sentiment stamps you can find here

I used some plain buff cardstock for my card base .
I then printed off 3 A4 sheets (double sided) using the collections above onto white card
After punching out the circles I needed for the flowers , I realised I had used less than half of it.

I hate the waste of such pretty papers, so decided on matching envelopes
Very easy and think they work so well with these cards.
I matted up my card base with matching card stock for my flowers
and after a bit of fiffing and faffing I had a trio of cards.
A nice little stamped sentiment and a pearl for each finished them off nicely.

Papermill Direct

Have you seen the news?
Papermill Direct are having a DT call
Check out all the details here

I adore there card and use it tons so I thought why not have a bash
Last week I was asked to make a Baby Boys card I enjoyed it so much
I thought I would stick with the baby theme.
So this is my project I have made to enter the call

I made the blue set first but loved it so much I made a matching one in pink
exchanging the little shoes for some girly sandals.
The Blue set was made using
I added some little laces and some frilly lace around the box lid and shoes
How nice would this set look personalised as a gift.
(hmmmm maybe another set in the making)

For the pink set I used
again adding a touch of frilly lace to the sandals and the box lid

Here are some more photo's in my little slide show

Although before I finish my post I must show you a close up of the little shoes and sandals
A little fiddly but oh so worth the effort....

Thank you for looking

A trio of Giraffes

                Oh Everyone loves a Giraffe
I decided the other day to have a tidy up sort through all the scraps of card and paper I had saved to use - only never to see the light of day again
I found quite a lot of pretty plain card/paper
Soooooo I needed a project not too big so I could at least use some.
Edit to say .... I already have another card in the making with my scraps! feeling chuffed

I used Buff cardstock as my bases (this was not in my scrappy pile box)

How cute did they turn out
and very simple to make

I cut them out on my portrait
Used some tiny different stamps on each one
Coloured some little white pegs with my Graph'It Markers
A little button and a small snip of ribbon
I stuck the Giraffes head on with foam pads so it really pops
How much fun are they!!

Pink and Blue Happy Birthday

Happy Wednesday Everyone
I have been a busy bee making a couple of Birthday cards
One I can't share until next week
but it's a cutie I promise!

If you saw my post yesterday , you will have seen that I used my new little love Brusho's - such cute little pots of coloured magic.

I made a simple card from Blue and Pink cardstock - I love these colours together
Then I brushoed (is that even a word?) up my flower layers
I have only just become addicted , so I havent got the full set...........yet *watch this space*
So that  red colour was the nearest match I had to the pink cardstock
Waited patiently for them to dry .......could not wait too long so finished of with my heat gun
Shaped them up
Glued them together and popped a pretty pearl in the center

Grandma and Felicity get crafty

Last week I had my 6 year old Granddaughter Felicity to stay for a few days
We always have so much fun
We even managed a trip to the beach which she loved
She has always enjoyed crafting and often gets bits to take home with her
But the older she is getting its so much fun when she gets a chair and sits beside me at my craft desk making her own little projects.
I had a little card I needed to make and as we had ,had such a sunny day, my mind was in yellow mode..... Can you tell?

I cut the card on my portrait and once assembled I decided it needed a flower.
So I cut one out and then used Brusho's on it ( I love using them , but am still learning)
Stuck a pearl in the middle  and voila my flower had bloomed.

All finished and sat there admiring my flower when Felicity pipes up *ohhhhh Grandma thats so beautiful*
Well Thank you Felicity , hmmmm I then notice she did'nt mean my card but the negative scrap of paper from where I had spritzed my flower!!

I agreed this was too pretty to throw away . She had previously mentioned she needed bookmarks - this would be perfect . So I cut out a bookmark shape , mounted it onto matching yellow cardstock and Felicity chose some stamps and away she went, I loved the way she only part stamped the butterflies. After the first one I showed her how not to stamp onto Grandma's desk but have some paper underneath hahaha . Once finished I laminated it, used my crop-o-dile for the hole . Added a tassle - A genius little project for her from a scrap of paper, She was utterly as proud as punch and was carrying it around like it was gold and very breakable .

I also used a smidging of Crystal Glitter on the pearl

I added a lovely strip of satin ribbon with pearls along the bottom
A strip of pearly bling across the top  and a few odd pearls scattered about
The Papers, Fish, Shells, Sentiment etc are all from

Meribelle - Polkadoodles Crafting

Happy Saturday to you all
I am back to share with you another of the new mermaids
This one is another stunner

I have used the Seahorse file from lovely Sandra's shop that you can find here (the seaweed and large dolphin are part of ths file)
and cut on my silhouette using white linen card stock
I used distress ink dried honey and used crystal glitter around the edge.

I coloured the image using lyra pencils
then I covered it using clear micro glass beads
very messy, but lots of fun , I was trying for the underwater look
All the tiny seahorses, sentiment and shells are from

The fish are also from the collection stuck on using acetate so they look like they are swimmimg
I finished of  with a sprinkling of sequins to match.
Please pop back later I've another mermaid to share

What has beautiful hair, a pretty face, two arms, a fish's tail, looks like a mermaid, but isn't a mermaid?
A photograph of a mermaid!

Meribelle Hello Sailor - Polkadoodles Crafting

Wooohooooo I am back again to share my second make of the day
This time I have used the wonderful digi
What a scrummy couple they do make

So for the shell which I cut out on my portrait  , I used the lovely file from Sandra which you can find here. Much more quicker and easier than this mornings project that I shared (the seaweed was also part of the file). I dusted round the shell using wild honey distress ink.

I coloured the image in with Lyra pencils - this is utterly cute and probably one of my favourites.

The Sentiments, Fish and Shells are all from

I just added a slice of rope, some thin netting and a glass bottle to finish

Thanks for stopping by today , join me again tomorrow for two more Meribelle makes

Yessssssiedoodles
created us some wonderful new digi's!!
Everyone loves a mermaid right?
Soooooo not just one but 10!!!!
Over the next few days I will be sharing six makes with you so make sure you pop right back.

My first make is using the wonderful
Sitting absolutly perfect on my project.

I cut the fountain card on my portrait - The wonderful file can be found here at the lovely Sandra's right here

I adored working on this project although it did take quite a while and a bit lot of patience, I just loved it and I was so determined to get it finished.
For my fountain card I used papers from
Giving the plain white mats a dusting with Mermaid Lagoon distress ink.
I borrowed the fountain digi from
*Check this out it is currently less than half price!!*
Giving it a little sparkle with Diamond stickles
Meribelle is coloured using Lyra Pencils, using white Graph'It Marker for the dots in her hair.
And I stuck her on using foam pads for depth.

All the Fishes/Shells/ Flip Flops etc are all from
The water was made using an old piece of cellophane that had been some wrapping around a pack of buttons , just scrunched it up
I then added some Doodle dewdrops
A few scatterings of sequins , some beaded pearls  and a length of rope to the drawer
I just need to decide what to put in the drawer now
No doubt a little pressie for my Granddaughter
Pop back later to see who has a boyfriend......
xx
